Touchdown Jesus in a Blaze of Glory

Those of you  who don’t know about the 62 foot Jesus statue alongside I-75 in my home state of Ohio might be surprised to learn two things:

1. There is a giant Jesus statue signaling a touchdown alongside an Ohio highway.

Before

2. Did I say “is”? I meant “was.” Touchdown Jesus was struck by lightning and burned to the ground.

After

If this had happened to a giant Buddha statue, I’m sure evangelicals like Pat Robertson would be screaming about a sign from God. I wonder what they have to say about this. Here is a video of Jesus on fire:

No word yet on plans to resurrect … er … reconstruct the statue.
